What this ally is
This partner supplies the checkout system, the payment processing and the sensors that count foot traffic.
It matters more here than in an ordinary store, for one reason: 1,001 separate sellers operate on this floor. Every transaction has to be split and settled to the right seller the same day. Everyone else's revenue share — the landlord's 7.5%, the makers' commission, the food partner's cut — is calculated from this partner's data. If the numbers are wrong, every other agreement is wrong.
02
Who it suits
- A checkout platform that can split and settle payments to many sellers automatically — 1,001 positions makes this a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have
- PCI-DSS compliant and licensed to process payments in the U.S.
- Has installed in-store sensors and traffic counting before
- Can integrate with enterprise software
- Accepts that the data belongs to the company, not to the vendor
03
What you put in
- Its share of the cash, paid in three instalments
- The checkout, payment and seller-settlement system
- The sensor network and the traffic and conversion measurement
- The reporting every other partner's revenue share is calculated from
04
What you get back
- 10% of the company
- A licence fee or a fee per transaction
- 10% of any profit the company distributes
05
What you would actually do
- Install and run the checkout, payment and settlement system
- Install the sensor network and the measurement layer
- Calculate and publish every partner's revenue share automatically
- Maintain the software and its releases
06
How the shares are earned
Two tests, both of which must be met: paying each cash instalment on time, and meeting the agreed service levels — system uptime, payment error rate, settlement accuracy, and delivering the data on time.
